This evening is designed
to encourage a friendly and casual atmosphere in support of
deepening our understanding to the benefits of sharing the every day challenges of living in accordance to the eightfold path.
We begin with a thirty-five minute meditation followed by a short reflection and volunteer check-in and discussion. This class is suitable for well seasoned, newly acquainted with and/or returning to the Buddhas path of practice.
Beginning January 11th we are reviewing and discussing "The Buddhist's Life Standards", by Phra Payutto. "Life Standards" is the first part of a booklet titled "A Constitution for Living." Once we've completed our study and practice of the first part of this book we'll decide as a group to either continue onto the second part or go to our next chosen topic (the Anapanasati Sutta).
"I don't envision a single thing that, when undeveloped, leads to such great harm as the mind. The mind, when undeveloped leads to great harm."
"I don't envision a single thing that, when developed, leads to such great benefit** as the mind. The mind, when developed leads to great benefit."
