The Portland Friends of the Dhamma community has the opportunity to support some Dhamma friends. The same land that was offered for the 2007 Summer Hermitage has also been offered as a retreat site for visiting monastics . There will be a work this spring to help these efforts to support the Dhamma in this area.
The weekend will include time for settling, hiking, wildflower viewing and meditation as well as service. The work may include clearing and leveling the two meditation paths and clearing and leveling paths and steps. Additional work may also be suggested.
A proposed schedule (it may change, please check back):
Saturday
3pm – 6pm arrive/settle/hiking/wildflowers
6pm Light Meal
7pm Meditation/Walking/Meditation
9pm Bedtime
Sunday
7:30am Breakfast (muffins, fruit, juice, coffee, etc.)
8am Work Begins
11am Meal
12:30 Continue work as needed.
People may come for part or all of the weekend. Meals will be potluck.
There is a variety of accommodations available. 2-3 people may stay in the cottage. There is a large tent available for 3 people. One person may sleep in their meditation room. Sleep under the stars on the tree deck or in your own tent!
