So Much to Celebrate

It’s been a really tough year and a half. The doors to our Dhamma Center have been closed for a full 15 months. Yet within this challenge, our extended community gave and received so well that today we still stand! How wonderful to behold. Now, the doors to this city refuge are open once again and we no longer have to wear masks or social distance from each other. So let us, as the Buddha advised, draw close to our monastic family, and to each other, our spiritual friends.

Luang Por Pasanno will anchor this day of practice and celebration. As well, we will take this opportunity to celebrate Luang Por’s 72nd birthday – it’s officially on the 26th but he has kindly agreed to share cake and ice cream with us albeit a bit early.

A Strong Building for a Strong Community

Amazingly, as of today, the ongoing support we have received over this past 15 months has given us just enough margin to bring all our programs back this Fall. Thank YOU! And yet, 15 months of our building being empty has exposed some inevitable repairs needing attention.

With your help, this building will stay standing too. Here is how your donations will be directed:

  • Wiring: 1/2 of the electrical wiring is 60-80 years old. We had a few mysterious intermittent outages this spring. It’s time to rewire.
  • New plumbing from the street into the kitchen. The existing pipe is damaged. This will greatly increase our water pressure.
  • Paint and storage units for all three bathrooms would immediately beautify.
