REGULAR GATHERINGS

Sunday Sila

Every Sunday Morning, 10-11:30 a.m.
In person and online

Led by Sakula

Sunday Sila is a good place to start if you want to get a feel for our community. The doors open at 9:45 a.m., and we begin at 10 with a brief chant, followed by a silent meditation period, Dhamma reflection, and time for questions, sharing and announcements. At 11:30, we invite participants to get to know each other over coffee and tea on the garden level.

Sitting Circle

Every Wednesday Morning, 7:10-7:50 a.m.

Peer-led

Contact us for access

This is a group of 8-12 members. We meet on Skype for a silent 30-minute meditation followed by a brief check-in.

Investigations

Every Friday Evening, 7-9 p.m.

Led by Matthew Grad

The expression dhamma vicaya means using the Buddha’s teachings to investigate all that we experience—sights, sounds, thoughts, emotions—so that we may come to understand the true nature of things. This sort of investigation is a factor of awakening, according to the Buddha, and on Friday nights, we’ll put it to work.

Each gathering will have a Dhamma theme. To begin the evening, Matthew will offer some brief reflections on the theme, drawing from his own experience and the Buddha’s ancient discourses. Then after a period of meditation, he’ll guide a group discussion on that topic. The focus will be on our direct experience and how we can apply the Buddha’s teachings in our everyday lives.

Virtually Bookish

Bi-weekly, 1st and 3rd Saturdays, 12:30-2 p.m., Online only

Led by Ruby Grad

Together, this group picks a Dhamma book to read and discuss every other week. Before we begin our book discussion, we check in about intentions on how to practice with what we learned from our last meeting. Everyone is welcome, even if you have not yet attended a meeting of the group or done the reading.

You are welcome to contact Ruby directly if you would like more information.

SUPPORT – DANA

“Preparing the mind for liberation: What makes it ready isn’t a matter of belief, but the capacity to access and feel the validity of generosity, virtue and renunciation.”
