Sunday Sila is a good place to start if you are wanting to get a feel for our community. Usually, this is a small, intimate group of about 15 folks, unless we have one of our more popular teachers, then you’ll want to come early as the room will fill up. Our doors open at 9:45, come on in and find a seat. We begin at 10:00 a.m. with a brief chant, a silent meditation followed by Dhamma reflections, and brief voluntary check-in. As the program ends, we all help clear the room for the next group to set up as they like. This is also a time to mingle if you like, maybe introduce yourself to the teacher or simply head off into your day.
Post pandemic times will include a potluck coffee and chat downstairs following the closing of the service upstairs.
Sitting Circle
Every Wednesday Morning, 7:10 a.m. — 7:50 a.m.
Peer-led

This is a group of 8-12 members. We meet on Skype for a silent 30-minute meditation followed by a brief check-in.
Investigations
Every Friday Evening, 7:00 — 9:00pm
Led by Matthew Grad

The expression dhamma vicaya means using the Buddha’s teachings to investigate all that we experience—sights, sounds, thoughts, emotions—so that we may come to understand the true nature of things. This sort of investigation is a factor of awakening, according to the Buddha, and on Friday nights, we’ll put it to work.
Each gathering will have a Dhamma theme. To begin the evening, Matthew will offer some brief reflections on the theme, drawing from his own experience and the Buddha’s ancient discourses. Then after a period of meditation, he’ll guide a group discussion on that topic. The focus will be on our direct experience and how we can apply the Buddha’s teachings in our everyday lives.
Virtually Bookish

Together, this group picks a Dhamma book to read and discuss every other week. Before we begin our book discussion, we check in about intentions on how to practice with what we learned from our last meeting. Everyone is welcome, even if you have not yet attended a meeting of the group or done the reading.
You are welcome to contact Ruby directly if you would like more information.
